Dr. Frank Lista

Dr. Frank ListaDr. Frank Lista is the Medical Director and founder of the Plastic Surgery Clinic. He is a board certified specialist in plastic surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and one of only a few Canadian plastic surgeons to be board certified in the United States as a diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Lista completed his plastic surgery residency and fellowship at the University of Toronto. He has been in practice for over 30 years. Dr. Lista is on active staff at Trillium Health Partners and was Chief of Plastic Surgery at Trillium Health Centre for over 10 years.

As a world-renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Lista has innovated many new surgical procedures. He is internationally recognized as an authority in aesthetic plastic surgery and is frequently invited to present his research and techniques at conferences around the world. Dr. Lista regularly lectures at conferences held by the four major plastic surgery professional societies in North America: the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (CSAPS), and the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS). And he has travelled around the world to provide lectures to other plastic surgeons, most recently visiting Mexico, Brazil, England, France, Italy, Turkey, India, Australia, South Africa, Peru and the United States. Dr. Lista has been invited as a visiting professor to some of the world’s most prestigious universities, including Yale University, the University of North Carolina, Loyola University, the University of California Irvine, and the University of California San Diego. He has also served in the esteemed position of Travelling Professor for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Lista is an assistant professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is actively involved in teaching plastic surgery residents, and is the Co-Chair of the Annual University of Toronto Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Symposium. As a dedicated academic and researcher, Dr. Lista has authored more than 30 articles and chapters in plastic surgery, including articles in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Aesthetic Surgery Journal. He is the Breast section editor and on the Editorial Board for Aesthetic Surgery Journal. He has published significant work on breast augmentation, breast reduction, abdominoplasty, liposuction, labiaplasty, and patient safety during plastic surgery. As an internationally recognized expert in plastic surgery, plastic surgeons from around the globe frequently visit the Plastic Surgery Clinic to observe Dr. Lista.

Dr, Lista has been Chair of the Ontario Medical Association Section on Plastic Surgery. He is a founding member and Past President of the Ontario Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Lista is a member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). Additionally, he is a member of the prestigious Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (CSAPS) as well as one of its past Presidents.

Dr. Lista is the Chair of the Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (CAAASF) and is an advocate for patient safety. He has served on the Out of Hospital Facility Task Force of the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSO). He has also served on the Patient Safety Committee for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is regularly invited to lecture on the topics of patient safety and operating room efficiency.

Dr. Lista is involved in many charitable endeavors locally and internationally. He received the Ontario Provincial Legislature Humanitarian Service Recognition Award for being part of one of the first surgical relief teams to work in Haiti after the earthquake in 2010.
