The Brazilian Butt Lift procedure has become immensely popular in the field of plastic surgery over the last ten years. Until recently, plastic surgeons did not have a great option for women and men who sought a more curvaceous, hourglass figure.

Many people who come to us for this procedure have spent years trying to “build up” their gluteal muscles and “grow” the look of their behind only to discover that their extended hours in the gym left them with a result that was too subtle. In actual fact, some individuals found that the more time they spent exercising, the smaller their curves became. That’s because they were burning fat, and the body doesn’t discriminate when it comes to fat loss (or fat gain, for that matter!).

The Plastic Surgery Clinic is home to three of the best Brazilian Butt Lift surgeons in Ontario, Toronto and indeed, the world. If you’ve ever wanted to achieve a curvy, well-proportioned silhouette, Brazilian Butt Lift might be the right option for you.

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

Rapidly gaining popularity each year, Brazilian Butt Lift is a buttock augmentation procedure that uses unwanted fat from other parts of the body to lift and add volume to the buttocks. What makes this surgery so popular and effective is the added benefit of liposuction. Fat is removed from areas like the abdomen, thighs, flanks, and lower back, then carefully prepared to be used to remodel the buttocks.

Your surgeon then meticulously injects the fat into strategic areas to create volume in the backside and achieve results perfectly tailored to your goals and desires. This process gives your surgeon a high level of control in accomplishing your desired shape. The outcome is a fuller behind with a slimmer tummy and thighs, emphasizing and accentuating a beautiful hourglass figure.

Brazilian Butt Lift has become much sought-after in recent years for a number of reasons. Only minimal incisions are required to perform both the liposuction and injections, which leads to little to no scarring. Very small incisions also lead to a faster, easier, and more comfortable healing process. Many patients love it because it offers a perfectly natural solution, re-arranging what already exists in the body into a more pleasing proportional result.

Watch Dr. Ahmad explain everything about why and how this procedure works so well.

At The Plastic Surgery Clinic we perform approximately 100 Brazilian Butt Lift procedures every year. Thanks to their high level of experience, Dr. Lista, Dr. Ahmad and Dr. Austin are highly skilled at delivering natural results that create a born-with-it look.

Brazilian Butt Lift Before and After Photo Gallery

The improved shape of your buttocks will be evident once most of the swelling has subsided about a month after surgery. You will be able to present a more confident profile and fill out those jeans in the way you always imagined. Even bikinis and yoga pants will no longer cause anxiety.

With fat grafting, your final size and shape won’t be evident until after about three months, as your body may absorb some of the fat that was injected. After that you can expect your shape to remain stable, unless you lose or gain large amounts of weight.

Your plastic surgeon will make your scars as inconspicuous as possible, but they will not be invisible. Fortunately, the scars can usually be placed so that you can easily hide them while they are healing. Your scars will be nearly imperceptible once they have completely healed, about nine months to a year after your buttock augmentation surgery.

Below you’ll find a few before and after photos of our Brazilian Butt Lift patients. If you think a Brazilian Butt Lift might be right for you, we will have a wide range of patient photos for you to browse through during your complimentary consultation. The photos below are just a small sample of patient photos we have. These photos should be used for educational purposes. Everyone’s result will differ.

The following images are presented for educational purposes only and should be interpreted subjectively. They do not represent the opinion or view of any patient regarding their result, and they are not intended to suggest the result that may be achieved by any other patient. The images are presented as factual guidelines and merely represent results that have been achieved by others. No two patients are alike and no two results are necessarily alike. Only a personal consultation with your surgeon can provide you with a reasonable expectation of the results you may achieve from any specific procedure.

Cost of Brazilian Butt Lift

It’s no secret that we love helping our patients achieve their goals. For many patients, the financial prospect of surgery can sometimes cause anxiety. We are therefore happy to offer free consultations for all potential patients to discuss in-depth what you would like to achieve, as well as the cost of your Brazilian Butt Lift.

Though buttock augmentations are not covered by OHIP or most corporate benefit plans, we are able to offer our patients a number of payment and financing options that can make the process easier. At the same time, it’s very common for us to hear from our patients that this surgery has proved to be a long-term investment in their happiness and self-confidence as opposed to simply a one-time financial expense.

If you’d like to learn more about the cost of Brazilian Butt Lift, please contact us by phone or e-mail or by filling out a Request for Information form at the bottom of this page.

The Best Candidates for Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery

The best candidates for Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery are individuals who are at or near their goal weight. This is not a weight loss procedure, so it is best if you reach, or get near to your weight loss goal prior to undergoing this procedure. It is important to note that in order to get the best result possible, you will need small pockets of fat in other areas of the body.

To determine your candidacy for this treatment, it’s best to book an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Our consultations are always free. Book one to discuss your options.

Watch the video below for more information from Dr. Ahmad on the best candidates for the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure.

The Brazilian Butt Lift Consultation

Every clinic does things a little bit differently, but at The Plastic Surgery Clinic you can rest assured that you will meet with one of our plastic surgeons on your very first consultation. One of our patient care coordinators will invite you into the consultation room. He or she will confirm some of your information and introduce you to our process.

You’ll then meet with your plastic surgeon who will assess your goals, physique and medical history. Together you’ll put together the best plan to achieve your desired result. You can decide to book your surgery right then and there, or take some time to think about it. If you need a second consultation, we can absolutely provide one for you at no cost.

Preparing for Your Brazilian Butt Lift

Your surgeon and your patient coordinator will provide all the instructions you need to get ready for your brazilian butt lift surgery. If you have any health conditions, or take any medication we may provide specific instructions for how to manage that prior to surgery. For example if you are diabetic, we’ll be sure to book your surgery for first thing in the morning.

Your surgeon may ask you to stop taking certain medications and supplements for a period of time before your procedure. Likewise, if you are a smoker, you will be required to stop smoking two weeks prior to your surgery and for a period time during recovery as well. Smoking has a direct and negative affect on the healing process and can cause serious complications.

Be sure to check out our pre-plastic surgery checklist posted on our blog. Most importantly, relax and get excited! Your big day is almost here and we can’t wait to be on this journey with you.

Where Your Brazilian Butt Lift is Performed

Your procedure will be performed at our state-of-the-art facility at The Plastic Surgery Clinic, which meets and exceeds national, provincial and municipal health care facility standards. As one of very few fully accredited independent health facilities licensed and inspected by the Ministry of Health of the Province of Ontario, we undergo frequent inspection and review to ensure that we provide the highest levels of care in critical areas like equipment quality and infection control.

You may also elect to have your surgery at the Mississauga site of the Trillium Health Centre and the University Health Network in Toronto, as our highly skilled plastic surgeons also enjoy privileges at these hospitals. Whether you decide to have surgery with us or at one of these trusted locations, there will always be a surgeon on call to respond to your concerns. Additionally, a board-certified anesthesiologist will administer your local or general anaesthetic, remain with you throughout the entire operation, and be there as you wake up.

Recovery After Brazilian Butt Lift

Your surgeon will recommend that you take a week off after your Brazilian Butt Lift procedure. In this time, it’s important to limit your activities to staying home, watching TV, and reading books. If you have young children, you should plan for additional childcare support during your healing period as chasing after little ones can impede your body’s natural healing.

Driving during this time is not recommended. We know that our patients lead busy lives, and we understand that it can be difficult to stop normal activity completely, but this period of rest and relaxation can actually speed up healing and will help achieve the best results possible after your surgery.

Your doctor and post op nurse will explain in detail all the measures you need to take to ensure the best post operative results. For most BBL patients, we ask that you do not sit on your bum, or lie flat on your back for 2 weeks after your surgery.

Furthermore, we may ask that you do not sit on your bum for extended periods of time for many weeks following your surgery, but this will be discussed at length with you by your plastic surgeon and patient coordinators. We have lots of tips and tricks for getting through the recovery process and making it a bit easier.

How long does the BBL last?

We get this question about BBL probably more than any other surgical procedure.

It is important to have realistic expectations of what you are able to achieve with this procedure, and understand that your immediate post-operative result is not your final one. Right after surgery, you will be extremely swollen, giving the look of a much larger bum. Slowly this swelling will subside. While the BBL procedure does last, only 50% of the harvested fat will survive post-surgery. This is normal and our technique accounts for this fat loss.

In the weeks and months following your BBL surgery, you will see your final look take shape. If your weight remains stable and you follow our post-operative instructions your result will be permanent. Of course, the body changes as we age and certain lifestyle factors come into play (pregnancy, hormonal changes, significant weight gain or loss), but even with these changes, you will maintain the general shape you achieved with your BBL surgery.

Keep in mind that the newly injected fat will behave like all fat: with weight loss your fat cells will shrink and get smaller; with weight gain they will swell and grow bigger. Maintaining a stable weight is the best way to ensure long-term BBL result. Dr. Ahmad discusses the science behind BBL and your body’s fat cells in the video below.

Brazilian Butt Lift Safety

The Brazilian Butt Lift procedure should only be performed by a board certified plastic surgeon. Be sure to ask your surgeon how many of this particular procedure they do a year, for how long they have been practicing, and where they trained. You should also ask to see more before and after photos of patients they have performed this procedure on.

You may have read in the news some scary stories about butt augmentation safety. Complications arising from this procedure are typically very rare in a well-recognized plastic surgery practice like The Plastic Surgery Clinic. We’ve seen a global rise of complications associated with this procedure because there are individuals performing it who are not board certified plastic surgeons. They do not have adequate training in fat removal and injection techniques, or they take an overly aggressive approach to fat injection in an attempt to make the buttocks too large.

There are also some practices claiming to provide butt augmentation by injecting foreign materials into buttocks. We now know very well that using anything other than a patient’s own fat leads to unnecessary complications and does not give an optimal result. Dr. Ahmad explains further in this video.

Brazilian Butt Lift vs. Gluteal Implants

Butt augmentation with implants is not a procedure we do here. This is because the benefits of this surgery do not outweigh the risks, and the result is simply not as good as what we can achieve with the Brazilian Butt Lift technique.

Butt augmentation with implants is when your surgeon places a medical grade implant into the buttocks, much like we would do in a breast augmentation procedure. However there are many drawbacks associated with this surgery. Implants in the buttocks tend to sag over time, likely due to how often we use this large muscle group in our day to day lives. We also tend to spend lots of time sitting and lying down, which puts lots of pressure on the implants, causing a host of problems over time.

We don’t see these types of issues with breast implants because our chest muscles are so much smaller than the buttocks muscles, we don’t use them so frequently, and we aren’t constantly putting pressure on them in the same way. The scarring associated with gluteal implants is also more conspicuous than those required for the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure. Overall the Brazilian Butt Lift is simply a better procedure than butt implant surgery.

Check out the illustrated video below for a review our of Brazilian Butt Lift technique.

Brazilian Butt Lift Risks and Complications

The Plastic Surgery Clinic is home to some of the best Brazilian Butt Lift Surgeons in the Mississauga, Toronto and around the world. Our depth of experience in all areas of plastic surgery makes this one of the most comfortable and safest clinics to have this procedure done in.

Dr. Lista, Dr. Ahmad and Dr. Austin perform approximately 100 Brazilian Butt Lift procedures each year. The results are ordinarily positive and complications are rare. Nevertheless, there are always risks associated with surgery, and there are specific complications associated with this procedure. Your surgeon will discuss these risks with you thoroughly during the consultation process.

Post-operative complications such as infection and blood clots are rare. Infection can be treated with drainage and antibiotics, but may require a hospital stay. You can minimize the risk of blood clots by moving around as soon as possible after the surgery.

At our state-of-the-art plastic surgery clinic in Toronto, patients are given anti-embolic stockings that they are asked to wear for one week following surgery. We also have a specialized device called a sequential compression pump that gently massages the patient’s legs during surgery and, combined with the stockings, greatly decreases the risk of blood clots in the legs.

Poor healing, which can result in conspicuous scars, may require a second operation. Smokers are advised to quit, as smoking may increase the risk of complications and delay healing.

You can reduce your risk of complications by closely following your surgeon’s instructions before and after the surgery, especially with regard to when and how you should resume physical activity.

Please keep in mind that at The Plastic Surgery Clinic, we will treat any complication that may arise and will provide a thorough list of the risks and complications when we meet you in person before your surgery.
