Dr. Ahmad – Not Just a Plastic Surgeon, But a Guardian Angel

dr-ahmad-sue-ann-levyAfter falling into a window while taking out the leaves this past fall and severely cutting her leg, Toronto Sun journalist, Sue-Ann Levy had a rough go during her ER experience at Toronto General. While she was treated by friendly nurses and fairly prompt care, her wound became virulently infected, which left her realizing just how urgently she required additional care.

When our very own Dr. Ahmad learned of Sue-Ann’s experience, he wanted to help in any way possible. Dr. Ahmad kindly reached out to Sue-Ann where he arranged to see her to make sure that her healing process would begin to move in the right direction.

After seeing Sue and assessing her wound, Dr. Ahmad took her under his wing and told her the truth that if the wound didn’t heal properly, she would be in for months of painful surgeries. He also advised her that her upcoming trip to Florida would be too risky and should be postponed until the wound closed up.

Most importantly, Dr. Ahmad got Sue-Ann into wound care at a Toronto Community Care Access Centre clinic where, as she states, she “was given nothing, but excellent treatment for nearly five weeks.” Dr. Ahmad even took time to call Sue-Ann at home to advise her that he was switching up her antibiotic to one that would cure both infections, and she began looking forward to weekly visits and political chats with him at our Mississauga clinic.

We are so proud to share this story, and we take great pride in having Dr. Ahmad on staff at The Plastic Surgery Clinic. Not only is Dr. Ahmad a leading plastic surgeon in the GTA, but he’s also one who provides and unprecedented level of patient care.
