Sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves with the silly title 😉
One of our staff members was recently in Miami, Florida, and couldn’t help but notice how many woman had full, curvaceous bums and hips with very slim “snatched” waists. Because she had a trained eye, she knew one thing for sure: these were surgically enhanced figures.
This new aesthetic trend is gaining popularity, as we are starting to see the celebration of more curvaceous figures. When Dr. Lista was a young plastic surgeon, a lot of fat was going OUT of the butt via liposuction, and now, we’re putting it back in. What goes around, comes around, I guess?
While we don’t do as many butt augmentations (or Brazilian butt lift – two names for the same procedure) as we do breast augmentations here at The Plastic Surgery Clinic, we certainly do a lot. Living in one of the most multicultural cities in the world means that we tend to see a little bit of every worldwide aesthetic trend, and we love to perform this particular operation.
How We Perform Brazilian Butt Lift
We perform a butt augmentation by removing fat from one or more “fat pockets” on your body, and then transferring it into the bum. At the Plastic Surgery Clinic, we make sure that we aren’t just adding volume to the butt. Instead, we carefully examine the shape of your existing bum, and add volume in specific areas to create a lovely shape. Getting a natural result is not just about the right volume, but about sculpting, too.
It sounds simple, but it requires a holistic look at your shape, natural curves, and where your fat tends to congregate, or pocket. We want to create a beautiful silhouette that narrows at the waist, and slowly curves out at the hips and bum. What makes this operation so great is that we are able to contour multiple areas of the body.
We’ll typically start by identifying your pre-existing fat pockets, and seeing where we can gather fat from. We’ll eventually take some or all of that fat and put it back in the bum, creating a beautiful, natural shape to the body.
Other Important Brazilian Butt Lift Concerns
The cost of Brazilian butt lift really depends on the look you are trying to achieve and how much liposuction is required. When you come in for your consultation with us, which is totally free, we will provide you with a quote. You can decide to book your surgery right there on the spot, or to meet with your surgeon again before you decide after taking some more time to think over everything you’ve learned. We’re here to help you with every step in the process.
The recovery from this procedure is about 1-2 weeks, depending on how much contouring you have done. Your plastic surgeon will let you know how much time you’ll need to take off work—1 week is the absolute minimum. Some people need a bit longer if their surgery is more extensive.
When you get your surgery with us, you’re never alone. Someone is with you every step of the way, whether that’s one of our patient coordinators, nurses, or the surgeon himself. You can always get in touch with us.
