6 Things To Do Before Breast Augmentation Surgery

breast implant procedure

When it comes to breast augmentation surgery and recovery, it’s often the little things that can end up making a big difference. We do everything we possibly can to make sure you have all the information you’ll need to make the process easier and more efficient from a medical standpoint. But what about the small stuff? Here are a few simple things you can do in advance to make life easier for yourself after surgery and to ensure optimal breast augmentation results.

1.) Make Your Own (Way Better) Lean Cuisine – Buying groceries and preparing meals isn’t something you’ll want to be doing right after breast augmentation surgery when your body needs calm, quiet rest. It’s a great idea to prepare your favourite meals and comfort foods in advance and store them in your freezer so all you have to do is re-heat and enjoy. If you’re wondering which particular foods can help with recovery, this list has some excellent tips.

2.) And While You’re Near the Freezer… – You might want to stock up on a few ice packs that will have time to freeze thoroughly because they can be helpful in minimizing pain and swelling for the first few days after surgery. For some women they make the experience more comfortable, while others find them unhelpful. Do what works best for you, but it might help to be prepared.

3.) Prep Your Recovery Base Camp – Your bed is about to become YOUR ZONE. Make sure you have everything you need close at hand on your nightstand. This includes books, magazines, newspapers, tissues, lip balm, bottled water, any of your essential electronics and their chargers. Having gum, a hairbrush, and baby wipes nearby can be a helpful pick-me-up when your showering routine is compromised.

4.) Get Ready to Binge – On TV and movies, that is. If they aren’t already, Netflix and iTunes are about to be your best friends. Catching up with Orange Is the New Black and Scandal is a great way to pass the time off your feet. No one can give you attitude about too much TV – you’re just following doctor’s orders. Here’s a great guide to binge-worthy TV to get you started.

5.) Have You Considered Hoodies? – Channel your inner dorm girl with a wardrobe of zipper front tops and comfy sweats. You’re going to want clothes that come off easily and open at the front, since you’ll have trouble reaching over your head. Listen: no one’s going to know if that thing’s Juicy Couture or Isabel Marant, so you just do you. You’re going to be in your zone. You get to do whatever makes you comfortable there. It’s time to go all out, and if that means luxurious cashmere jammies for you, then go for it. But if you know you’re going to feel best in a matching velour track set with embarrassing text written across the butt, no shame. Remember: J Lo did it first. And she did it in public.

6.) Get Your Team Ready – When you’re recovering from breast augmentation surgery, you won’t be walking or driving for a while. If you have kids, you’re going to need to set up childcare with someone you trust so you can feel completely relaxed. And don’t forget the pets! There are plenty of reliable dog walkers in Toronto and Mississauga who can help you out.
