The Plastic Surgery Clinic Announces new Director of Research and Education

Dr. Jamil Ahmad, MD, FRCS(C), has been appointed as the new Director of Research and Education at The Plastic Surgery Clinic in Mississauga, Ontario.

“We are pleased to have Dr. Ahmad as the Director of Research and Education at The Plastic Surgery Clinic where we are dedicated to developing new treatments and improving the standards of care in the field of aesthetic surgery. His vast knowledge and expertise will play a significant role in our mission,” says Dr. Frank Lista, MD, FRCS(C), Founder and Medical Director, The Plastic Surgery Clinic.

Dr. Jamil Ahmad joined The Plastic Surgery Clinic in January, 2011, after training in Ireland and Texas. While at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dr. Ahmad received three prestigious awards in anatomy – the Evatt Memorial Medal, the Stoney Memorial Medal, and the Barker Dissection Prize. Dr. Ahmad is the only plastic surgeon in Canada to complete his plastic surgery residency training at the world renowned Department of Plastic Surgery, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. WHile in Dalls, he was awarded the Gaspar Anastasi Award from the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery for his research. Dr. Ahmad completed a fellowship in breast reconstruction at the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto.

This is an excellent opportunity for us to continue to take it to the next level,” Dr. Ahmad adds. Over 40 articles and chapters in plastic surgery have been written by Dr. Ahmad. In addition, he is the Course Director for the Annual University of Toronto Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Symposium.

Dr. Ahmad is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and recognized as a specialist in Plastic Surgery. He enjoys privileges at the University Health Network, Women’s College Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital.
