Morpheus8 Body: Stretch Marks, Scarring, Cellulite & More

We know we’ve sung the praises of Morpheus8 technology before. But we just can’t get over how versatile and effective this treatment is for so many different skin concerns.

You’ve probably heard us talk a lot about Morpheus8 for the face, or maybe even had the treatment done at our clinic, so you’ll know that it can address a wide range of skin issues from improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to smoothing out textural irregularities, treating hyperpigmentation and combatting acne, amongst so many others.

The amazing thing is that we can also use this technology all over the body to treat skin laxity, cellulite, scarring, stretch marks and so much more. And it’s so effective it’s become a celebrity favourite: Kim Kardashian used Morpheus8 Body to treat her abdominal area.

What is Morpheus8 Body?

Morpheus8 technology uses a unique combination of microneedling and radiofrequency (RF) heat energy in order to treat a variety of skin concerns both on the face and body.

The reason that Morpheus8 technology can be extended to skin concerns on the rest of the body is because Morpheus8 has the unique capability of penetrating the skin deeper than traditional microneedling technologies, meaning that it can actually contour and remodel the tissue that lies deep below the surface of the skin. And it can do all of this without damaging the surface layer of the skin, too.

In addition, because it uses RF technology, it can also tighten the skin and melt small amounts of stubborn pockets of fat. The beauty of microneedling is that it will stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the body maintaining your result for a long period of time.

This is why Morpheus8 Body is such an effective microneedling treatment for cellulite, for instance, as the combination of skin tightening, fat reduction, and the stimulation of collagen and elastin production really improves the appearance of cellulite and textural irregularities over time.

Morpheus8 Body can also effectively treat areas such as the abdomen, upper arms, bra roll, knees, thighs, the bum, and flanks.

Can Morpheus8 Body be combined with surgical procedures?

Absolutely. In fact, our surgeons at The Plastic Surgery Clinic often combine Morpheus8 Body with tummy tucks and liposuction procedures to help improve skin laxity and tighten the skin as well as improve textural irregularities.

That being said, Morpheus8 Body doesn’t necessarily need to be done in tandem with a surgical procedure. We can also do it outside of the OR in our medical spa as a non-surgical procedure.

Is there any downtime after Morpheus8 Body?

The amount of downtime you’ll need following Morpheus8 Body really largely depends on whether you’re having the treatment done on its own as a non-surgical procedure or in combination with surgery.

If you’re having Morpheus8 Body done on its own then you’ll need to take it easy for about 24-48 hours following your treatment. You might experience some swelling, redness, and bruising at the treatment site, as well as some bleeding and/or raised red bumps from the microneedling treatment, but for most patients this resolves itself soon after your procedure.

If you’re combining Morpheus8 Body with a surgical procedure your downtime will be significantly longer but this is due to your surgical procedure and not your Morpheus8 Body treatment.

When Can I Expect to See Results of my Morpheus8 Body Treatment?

You’ll see an immediate improvement in the quality of your skin following Morpheus8 Body, but it typically takes approximately 3 weeks in order to seen an improvement in skin laxity. That being said, optimal results are usually seen after a series of 3 treatments spaced about 6 weeks apart. Your results will continue to improve in the months following your series of treatments, after which we may recommend maintenance treatments once a year.
