Tell us about the mini facelift. Do I need it and when can I get it?
LOL! The mini facelift is a favourite anti-aging procedure of mine. It provides a fantastic result, especially in and around the jawline, while minimizing the downtime and scarring associated with a full facelift.
Whether you’re a candidate or not for the mini lift depends on what you’re looking to achieve. If you’re concerned about the look of your forehead, upper cheeks or eye area, then we’re probably going to suggest a full facelift for you. One thing patients like about the mini facelift is that it results in a really refreshed look without the appearance that you’ve done something dramatic, which can be the case with a full facelift (especially if you haven’t been keeping up with skincare or injectables).
What makes the mini facelift different from the weekend facelift?
The mini facelift is for patients who have slightly more advanced laxity in the neck and jowls, but no so much laxity that they need a full facelift. The recovery period is slightly longer than the weekend facelift but the incisions tend to be the same.
At the end of the day, whether we decide to perform a mini facelift, a weekend facelift or a full facelift really depends on what your concerns are, and how we can achieve the best results. Patients often come in loving the idea of a weekend facelift, but we only perform it if we know we can achieve your goals with that procedure.
Sometimes, the only option might be a full face lift. On the other hand, some patients come in thinking they need a full facelift, and are delighted to find out that the mini facelift would be better suited to them.
