The “weekend” facelift is a procedure designed for patients who only require a very small amount of tightening. As the name suggests, patients should be able to recover over the course of a weekend, with minimal scarring and almost no bruising.
Some patients can get large results from a small lift. The weekend facelift uses a minimal version of the short scar technique, where a surgeon creates a very small incision just above and below the front of the ear, eliminating the need for an incision (and scar) behind the ear. This is a significant improvement over previous techniques, as it allows women to wear their hair up in a bun or ponytail without any tell-tale signs of surgery. This sophisticated procedure was developed by Dr. Lista and has produced superb results for our Toronto and Mississauga facelift patients.
With a weekend facelift, the bandages are typically removed after 48 hours, although sutures are normally in place for a week. Unlike a full facelift, a weekend facelift can be performed on an outpatient basis. The procedure takes approximately one to one-and-a-half hours.
Performing a weekend facelift procedure requires a skilled and experienced surgeon. Dr. Lista, Dr. Ahmad and Dr. Austin will listen carefully to your goals and help you determine which type of facelift procedure is the right one for your situation.
