Thread Lift Nose Job

Noses can really determine what the rest of our face looks like. They are the most central feature of the face and sometimes just a subtle adjustment is all you need to give the face that extra added definition. The thread lift nose job can do just that. Whether you’re looking to add a little precision to the nose giving it a straighter and smoother appearance, or you really want to give the tip a little lift, the thread lift nose job may be just the thing for you.

What is the Thread Lift Nose Job?

If you’re familiar with the thread lift, a treatment that uses PDO threads (dissolvable sutures) to give target areas of the face a subtle lift, then a thread lift nose job is very similar. The versatility of PDO threads allows us to treat so many areas of the face including the nose.

When treating the nose, PDO threads are inserted just below the skin in strategic areas of the nose and around. They are then expertly manipulated in order to position tissue in such a way that gives you the desired result.

That being said, it’s important to keep in mind that the thread lift nose job cannot solve every nose concern and is not a replacement for a surgical rhinoplasty procedure. The thread lift nose job can subtly add contour. It can lift the tip of the nose and give the nose an overall straighter appearance.

For the right patient, the the thread lift nose job can also be combined with a non-surgical nose job or liquid rhinoplasty treatment that injects soft tissue filler into the nose addressing mild depressions in order to also give the nose a smoother appearance.

Again the thread lift nose job is a great treatment for anyone who is looking for a subtle touch up of the nose. However, the treatment can’t structurally change your nose, it can’t make it bigger or smaller, or resolve breathing issues. For more dramatic results and structural concerns you may need to consider rhinoplasty.

Please note that if you previously had rhinoplasty and are interested in a thread lift nose job, you will first need to be assessed by our rhinoplasty expert Dr. Ahmad.

What to Expect from your Thread Lift Nose Job Treatment

The thread lift nose job treatment takes anywhere from 30-45 minutes. You will have a local anesthetic injected into the nose in order to minimize any discomfort. Once numbed, your doctor will proceed with the treatment and insert PDO threads just below the surface of the skin in target areas of the nose. The threads will be strategically manipulated in order reposition the tissue for your desired result.

If you’ve opted for a combination thread lift nose job and liquid rhinoplasty treatment, your doctor will then proceed to inject soft tissue filler.

There is very minimal downtime following the thread lift nose job, which is why it’s often called the “lunch time nose job.” You can literally come in and have the treatment done during your lunch break and then go back to work.

Your nose may feel a little sore or tender following the treatment, and you may experience some mild swelling and/or bruising as well as some dimpling. These are all normal side effects that should resolve themselves quickly, and shouldn’t last for more than two weeks.

Your doctor will give you guidelines as to how to care for your nose following your treatment. For any swelling or discomfort, you can apply ice and take Tylenol, and you’ll need to avoid putting pressure on your nose as well as strenuous exercise for about two weeks after your treatment.

How Much Does the Thread Lift Nose Job Cost?

The cost of a thread lift nose job starts at $1,500 per treatment, but is really dependent on your nose anatomy and your particular case. Some patients require a thread lift nose job in combination with a liquid rhinoplasty for optimal results. You will receive a firm quote following your complimentary consultation with one of our doctors.

How Long Does the Thread Lift Nose Job Last?

A thread lift nose job can last anywhere from 18 months to 2 years. The collagen that your body produces stimulated by the treatment is what maintains your results for many months after the PDO threads have dissolved, typically after 6-9 months.
